Thank you for the kind comments on the blog yesterday, today was another "on the road" days but at sea!
Ouistreham is the seaport for Caen and is about 15 km from the city, we arrived in plenty of time for the ferry and we were surprised to find a bustling Sunday fish market. It seem's the trawler come back and unload the seafood direct onto the stalls, you could not buy fresher fish, lobsters, mussels and the rest.
The ferry was the "Normandie" and was very comfortable, we had booked recliner seats and found we were in the front lounge in the second row so we had a great view of everything. The six hour journey passed very quickly on a very calm sea and we arrived in Portsmouth on dusk and very pretty it was.
