Day 29 - Killenard, County Laois - Saturday - Special Wedding Report

Today is the Wedding Day for Robert Mounsey and Gillian Gleeson.  Robert (Bob) is John and Carrie's nephew, son of Stan and Lily.

We all toddled off to the Heritage Hotel in Killenard, about an hour from Cloughjordan to stay the night and attend the big night out, along with 270 others.

The service was in Killenard Church at 2pm, or 2-35pm by the time everyone was ready ! Gotta love Irish time.

After a very nice service and Mass we all retired to the hotel and festivities started around 6-30pm.

John was the reader of the  Communion Reflection, a poem called "Two Friends" .  He read so well that there were several repercussions, one middle aged man asked John if he had thought about being a priest and another wondered if he had been in radio. However things got better, at the reception a bevy of under 30 year old ladies told him that he now had a fan club of similar nubiles and that some thought he looked like James Bond, then he woke up! no seriously it did happen !

Five course meal and plenty of drinks ensued to make it a very memorable evening and give Bob and Gillian a happy day.

All in our finery and ready to go!                                  Flowers in church prepared by Bob's mother Lily
