The drive from Heidelberg to Meersburg was pleasant and no rain, sun all the way. The satnav managed to find another obscure address which turned out to be Frau Eva Langes version of a b&b. We don't normally use b&bs so this was a bit of a shock. We checked in in her lounge with hubby (Heinrich) stretched out on the settee watching daytime tv, he was still there in the evening when I went to pay! The room, well the room was very clean with lots of furniture and decorated in what one can only assume as 1950's traditional German taste. I hasten to add that there was nothing bad about the room except the decor. We survived and slept really well.
Meersburg itself was very historic but small and you could see most of it in ten minutes. The lake was the main feature and unfortunately we arrive too late to partake of any of the ferry journeys. There was a Zeppelin Museum but I think it was closed, talking of Zeppelins Friedrichshafen is very close and although i haven't googled it i seem to remember that was where they were built.
So we had apfel crepes with calvados and some strawberry waffle thing, very nice. Then it was back to the car because everywhere you parked you had to pay and display and you quickly run out of change. As we had to kill time or endure Frau Evas room in daylight we went for a drive to Immenstaad where after depositing our last small change in a parking meter we went for a walk on the pier and watched the ferries come and go.
