Today we said goodbye to Italia, dolce and all that. Sanremo was pleasant and the rich and famous were still out in their boats.
Then it was back on the right hand side of the road for the journey into France and Avignon. You certainly can eat up the kilometres, especially at 160kms on the straight bits ,"smiles" , so much so that we decided to pay a visit to the Riviera and we chose Nice. I have to admit that driving into Nice was not nice and for some reason I got really nervous driving and was quite relieved to park the car, weird!
After walking for 30 minutes and turning on data roaming to use Google maps we found our way to the Promenade Des Anglais on the seafront and wow the colour of the Med was amazing, a real azure blue.
As we were only there for a short time we went and had a drink in a seafront bar then went on the hop on/hop off bus. It was quite interesting for the first 45 minutes then we wanted to get back to where we started and hop off.
There is serious money in Nice including a lot of Russian presence, the villas are bigger and so are the boats, two we saw had helicopters on the back, again it's one of those places that if you had money you could have a good time, if not..........
Included a selection of photos, then for us on to the Cite Des Papes.
