Day 12 Farewell to dear old England

Ok so it's not that dramatic and going to the colonies is not as bad as it used to be.... but we were up bright and early and down for a 6am breakfast at the hotel and the first baked beans of the tour. Onward to Dover, a quick 15 minute drive down the motorway, and the DFDS embarkation ramp for the crossing to Dunkirk.

Very calm and sunny perfect for a sea voyage or a channel voyage to be pedantic. Change the sat nav from MPH to KPH and we were all set. The next few hours saw us travel through four more countries, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Germany, five if you add the UK, all in a distance less than Brisbane to Coffs Harbour. Amazing!

We did make one long stop along the way, Brugge... it was a place we stayed three days in 2010 and we just wanted to go back as it is a great little town. We parked the car and walked around, had coffee and saw some of the places we remembered, if fact we almost knew where we were walking eh Penny!!!!

Oh yes we did buy Belgium chocolates and some pistachio marzipan.

Onto Koln to a very nice hotel, poor wifi and a shared four cheese pizza at the local Italian....
