Had an email from Brittany Ferries saying that due to a French general strike the departure time has been put back an hour from 8-30am to 9-30am, the good thing is stay in bed later. The crossing was quiet and calm in the sunshine and we arrived in Portsmouth in good time, sailing past the Spinnaker, HMS Victory and the new aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal. As we had been delayed an hour we arrived in port just after the ferry from Cherbourg so there was a lot of cars, trucks, motorhomes and caravan all trying to get off at the same time, so it took us nearly an hour to get past the passport control and on our way to Coventry.
