Day 51 - Saturday - Solihull Again....... Walk in Coundon Wedge

Saturday started as an anti climax, home from the holidays so to counter the mood we went shopping to Touchwood Centre in Solihull. NEXT had their sale, apparently this is a good one so Sue and Penny wanted to go. They opened at 5-30am but that was vetoed and we arrived at a sociable 10am. Al came out best with eight tee shirts some from NEXT and some from Sports Direct who were selling Pierre Cardin ones for £2.50 ......

On a previous visit to Solihull we had seen a display by the Birds of Prey Society and so it was again all these cute owls including little Piper who was Pennys favourite.

Saturday afternoon we were feeling deprived of our walking skills so we all set off to walk around the wood and fields of a place called the Coundon Wedge, very peaceful and rural yet within a ten minute stroll from Sue and Al's. We ended up at Allesley Village and had a drink at the Rainbow Inn, a pub that has been there since 1620 and is the place my paternal Grandad walked to every Sunday morning with his drinking buddy before returning to his home for lunch. History again......
