Day 45 - Sunday - Weymouth

We do like to be beside the seaside, all together now......

Weymouth is a quintessential British seaside resort, buckets and spades, donkey rides and fun fairs, and would you believe in typical Bate fashion they had a seafood festival running. Lots of food and drink stalls not all of them seafood we actually bought some individual pies to eat one night at the unit. The weather had started off grey and cold but again the sun shone and came out on the intrepid foursome. After a walk about through the festival we headed back to Portland Bill as we had booked a table in a local inn for a carvery lunch.

After a mediocre lunch we decided to do some discovery walking around New Ground, Portland, we found a prison, quarries and a High Angle Battery from Victorian days. Oh also some goats and would you believe wallabies, so a lot of walking but an interesting afternoon. To top it of we went over the road from the unit and walked on Chesil Beach where some intrepid young girls actually went into the water......! My step counter said we covered over 18,000 steps for the days, not sure about that but it felt like it.
